What are the main functions of the fruiting body in cap mushrooms?

All cap mushrooms consist of a mycelium and a fruiting body, and the fruiting body itself consists of a leg and a cap, therefore they are called cap mushrooms.
The leg and cap are the filaments of the mycelium that have crawled out for sporulation. To do this, on the mushroom caps, tubules (white, boletus) or plates (champignon, chanterelles) are formed at the bottom, and spores form on them. Drying up, they scatter and, once in the soil in a favorable place and in the right weather, they germinate, forming a new mycelium. Therefore, the fruiting body of the fungus is necessary only for reproduction.
