What are the main occupations of the peasants in China?

In China, farmers grow rice, and in the northern regions, barley and millet. Livestock is represented by such areas as pig breeding, chicken and ducks breeding. The peasants of the southern provinces grow tea, silk, various fruits (citrus fruits, peaches, bananas and all sorts of tropical). Peasants are also engaged in vegetable growing; in Russian stores you can often see garlic from China. A lot of cabbage, cucumbers and other vegetables are grown there.
