What are the main sources for the history of the countries of the Ancient East?

Sources on the history of the countries of the Ancient East are divided into 3 types. These are archaeological finds, works of ancient authors, monuments of the written language of the peoples who inhabited those territories. Among the works of ancient authors, the works of Herodotus stand out. They contain a lot of useful information. The archaeological finds that became the sources are the remains of palaces and ruins of cities found by historians.
