What are the methods of plant growth?
There are three types of plant growth: apical, lateral and growth due to the multiplication of cells of the educational tissue located in the internodes of the shoot. Plant growth is carried out due to the multiplication of cells in the educational tissues of the plant, the so-called meristems. These tissues are found at the tops of the plant (the tip of the shoot, stem and end of the root) or in the lateral part of the plant (cambium). The tissues responsible for growth, located at the top, contribute to the growth of the organs and the plant itself in length or height, and the lateral ones in thickness. Lateral growth is provided by the educational tissue of the plant, cambium. The best growth due to cambium is observed in trees (spruce, linden, oak). Growth in internodes is observed in cereal plants (wheatgrass, rye).
