An earthquake is a violent vibration of the earth’s surface. It happens that earthquakes do no harm, but there are such strengths that everything around them collapses. They can arise not only on land, but also far in the oceans and seas. In such cases, earthquakes are no less dangerous – despite the distance from a person, they can provoke the formation of a huge wave. Such waves are called “tsunamis” (Japanese for “harbor wave”). Tsunamis can reach 50 m in height and gain a speed of 700-800 km / h. Striking the coast, the tsunami destroys everything that comes in its path and causes monstrous floods.
