What are the natural conditions in Phenicia?

Phenicia occupied the territory of modern Lebanon. It was very different from its neighbors – the civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt:

There was no large river around which it was possible to engage in agriculture, like the Nile, the Tiger or the Yellow River. In mountainous conditions, agriculture was more difficult, grapes and fruit trees grew well, cereals could be bought from neighbors.
High mountains protected from enemy attacks.
The Mediterranean coast promoted the development of fishing, shipbuilding, and the extraction of purple paint from shells.
The climate was warm, subtropical, Mediterranean, hot in summer and cold and humid in winter.
