What are the places of settlement of the Tats, Mountain Jews in the traditional past?

Mountain Jews mainly lived in the eastern part of the North Caucasus, as well as in the north of Azerbaijan. As a rule, they lived in closed communities in cities – including Grozny and Nalchik. In Dagestan, Derbent was traditionally considered a Mountain Jewish city. The most famous mountain-Jewish settlement in Azerbaijan is Krasnaya Gorka.
