What are the prerequisites for educational ideas?

The entire 18th century was associated with educational ideas. They concerned not so much society as the rulers. Educational ideas were formulated by the thinkers of the time. For example, Voltaire was very popular among the monarchs of Europe. This man congratulated Catherine II on her victories over the Turks. He also congratulated the Turks on their victories over the rebellious Slavs of the Balkans.

Prerequisites for educational ideas
Educational ideas of that time did not arise from scratch. They were the result of the development of Europe, the consequence of changes in society. The main prerequisites for such ideas should be indicated:

numerous religious wars have resulted in a variety of religious movements in Europe. The space, unified in its perception of reality, was influenced by several religious movements – Protestants, Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Lutherans, and so on;
freedom of belief was recognized “by the facts.” This relieved entire nations of the obligation to recognize Catholic dogmas;
Following the Great Geographical Discoveries, several major scientific breakthroughs took place. Science got the opportunity to conduct experiments and not be afraid to violate the dogmas of the church;
the rulers understood the trends of the times and were forced to obey them. Enlightenment was expressed in the explanation by the rulers of the reasons for their actions. This is how international law came into being. For example, the emperor of Austria, who had no sons, published a law on the right to occupy the throne of his daughter. This law was recognized by Russia.
Thus, the main prerequisite for educational ideas was the liberation from Catholic dogmas. The burning of witches has ceased, the world has become wider and more diverse.

Who promoted such ideas in Russia
The first “enlightened” monarch was Catherine 2. She maintained a lively correspondence with Voltaire. She also invited Falcone to Russia, who created a monument to Peter 1 in St. Petersburg. Catherine II bought Diderot’s library for Russia and paid him a lifetime pension. At the same time, all the books remained in his use. They were taken to Russia after his death.
