Judicial reform began in 1864 and its main principles were:

-Complete change of the judicial system. The emergence of magistrates and common courts.

-The court became vowel, open and adversarial.

-The emergence of the institution of the jury.

-Independence of the investigation, it was separated from the activities of the police. Separation of judicial power from administrative power.

-Creation of the Bar.

– The immutability of judges.

The reform was consistent, as it began to be prepared in 1844 and its implementation stretched until 1889.
