What are the processes of metabolism?

Metabolism (metabolism) includes 2 processes: 1) assimilation, 2) dissimilation. The assimilation process is the synthesis of organic substances of the cell, namely proteins, fats and carbohydrates. At the same time as synthesis in the cell, the disintegration of molecules occurs. The dissimilation process is the breakdown of proteins, fats and carbohydrates into simpler substances, while energy is released. Dissimilation is divided into 2 types: respiration (decomposition of organic substances with the participation of oxygen occurs) and fermentation (decomposition proceeds without the participation of oxygen, with the help of enzymes).
