What are the reasons for the defeat of the Decembrist uprising?

1) Lack of conspiracy, as well as lack of motivation among some conspirators. As a result, the government learned about the impending uprising.

2) The narrowness of the social base, an orientation mainly towards the military revolution, insufficient work with the population, the lack of involvement of broad strata of society.

3) Lack of unity and coherence, as well as a single ideology.

4) The unwillingness of most of the nobility for the final overthrow of the autocracy, naive monarchism. As a result, many refused and changed their minds just before the performance.

5) Lack of consciousness and insufficient education of the peasantry and the military – namely, the Decembrists staked on them.
