What are the reasons for the long-term confrontation between Iran and the Ottoman Empire?

We are talking about the period from the 16th to the 18th century.
The first reason is religious. Turks and Persians were representatives of different branches of Islam. Turks are Sunnis and Persians are Shiites. They treated each other negatively, like Catholics and Protestants.
The second reason is territorial and economic. Persia controlled in the first half of the 16th century a fairly rich region on the territory of modern Iraq, on the shores of the Persian Gulf and in the Caucasus.
More often the Turks won wars, they reached Hamadan on the territory of modern Iran, but sometimes the Persians won, for example, under Shah Abbas I at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries.
