What are the restrictions on human freedom in society?

Human behavior in society is regulated publicly and privately. Publicly, these are clearly spelled out norms and instructions, the failure to comply with which carries penalties in the form of a monetary fine, correctional labor or prison. These include: traffic rules, various laws, norms prescribed in an employment contract, norms prescribed for behavior in public places like the subway and bus. Tacit, generally accepted norms of ethics and morality, the violation of which causes condemnation and criticism from others, aimed at causing shame and guilt in the violator of the norms.
