What are the root modifications associated with?

In connection with the performance of additional functions, the root has modifications:
1. Storage roots, typical for biennial dicotyledonous plants – chicory, carrots, radish. They can be divided into 2 groups: a) root crops; formed at the expense of the main root, b) root tubers; arise from lateral and adventitious roots.
2. Aerial roots (for epiphytic plants).
3. Haustoria or sucker roots (for parasitic plants).
