What are the shortcomings of Darwin’s theory of evolution?

The main unresolved question in Darwin’s theory of evolution is how humanity evolved. According to the theory, humans evolved from a proto-monkey on the African savannah. If we could somehow place, for example, a proto-ape on the warm savannah on many Earth-like planets, could it reliably evolve into something like humans every time, or only occasionally? After all, many traits have evolved several times in unrelated animals. This is called convergent evolution. The ability to fly has developed in insects, reptiles, birds, bats, fish, and other animals. Air breathing and walking in fish have evolved several times.
