What are the similarities and differences between Australia and Antarctica?

First of all, there is a difference in climate. For example, Australia has a hot climate, while Antarctica, on the contrary, is very cold, because there is the Antarctic Desert.

Also continents differ in inhabitants. Kangaroos, platypuses, koala, echidna live in Australia. In Antarctica, penguins have adapted.

Australia’s territory is almost 2 times smaller than Antarctica. Antarctica also has islands.

But there is still a similarity between the continents, namely in the landscape. Both continents are covered with deserts, only Australia is bare rocky, and Antarctica is the Antarctic desert.
