What are the similarities and differences between fungi and plants?

Mushrooms and plants are different kingdoms of living nature. Their main difference is in the way they eat. Fungi are heterotrophs, that is, they cannot themselves synthesize organic substances from inorganic ones. Plants are autotrophs. During photosynthesis, they create glucose from inorganic molecules. Also, the composition of their cell membranes is different. In fungi, the main substance of the membranes is chitin. Plants do not have it. They have cellulose. The cell wall of plants is much thicker than that of fungi, so plants are much less digestible.
