What are the similarities and differences between the Ancient Greek school and the Modern one?

There are quite a few differences here. The school of the ancient Greeks began at the age of 7. Basically, three teachers were engaged in teaching children: grammar, pedotribe and kefarist. Children studied grammar, counting, etiquette, philosophy, history, music, literature and played sports. Only boys went to school. It should be noted that poor families could not afford school because their children had to work in the fields and help their parents. Each boy was accompanied to school by a slave.
