What are the similarities and differences between the formation of coal and limestone?

Limestone has a lot in common with bituminous coal. Both minerals were formed through the death and decomposition of living organisms. Both minerals are beneficial to humans. Also, these minerals are mined either in the mountains or from underground. They are both solid. But the differences between them are that limestone is created as a result of the decomposition of animal bodies, and coal is a consequence of the decomposition of dead vegetation. They are used by humans for different purposes.
