What are the similarities and differences between the liberation of different colonies?

The similarity of the liberation struggle of the colonial lands against the invaders was that they fought for freedom and independence. The population of the colonies wanted to independently govern the country, and not “at the behest” of England, Spain, etc.
Differences in the struggle of various colonies consisted in the fact that, for example, in the Americas, European settlers who had already settled there fought against the colonialists. They, in turn, oppressed the local population themselves. And, for example, in India or in the African colonies, the struggle against the colonialists became national liberation.
