Battles at Marathon, Thermopylae and Salamis.
Similarities:
1) All these battles took place during the period of the Greco-Persian wars (5th century BC).
2) The same opponents in battles (Greeks against Persians).
Differences:
1) The Battle of Marathon took place in 490 BC, the other two in 480 BC.
2) The Salamis battle took place at sea.
3) The Greeks lost the Battle of Thermopylae.
