| It is impossible to compare the life cycle of two large groups of animals at once – flat and round worms. Since some types of flat and round worms live in the organismic environment, that is, they are parasites. Some species are free-living. Because of this, there are many differences. For example, worms living in the organismic environment are mainly hermaphrodites and lay a large number of eggs. Free-living worms do not have such a need, since their lives do not depend on getting into a foreign organism.
