What are the similarities and what are the differences between mitosis and amitosis?

Amitosis is a direct division. With it, unlike mitosis, it divides violently without the formation of a division spindle. This method is less energy intensive than mitosis. It is characteristic of the simplest organisms, elderly cells, cancer cells divide in this way. The nucleus can be divided not only into 2 parts, but also more, therefore, as an outcome of such division, multinucleated cells are often obtained. The distribution of genes by daughter nuclei is a random process and is unequal. Mitosis is an indirect division, characterized by the formation of chromosomes and a clear, even distribution of genetic material.
