CDs and DVDs are storage media that can be read and written using a laser. These discs are similar in structure, functionality and appearance. The main difference between them is the volumetric measure of information that each of them is capable of carrying. For example: CDs have a capacity of up to 700 MB, and DVDs – up to 17 GB. Also, DVDs can be double-sided and CDs can only be single-sided.
