What are the similarities between the photoemulsion method and photography?

In both cases, a photographic emulsion material is used, which, as a result of chemical reactions, preserves the hidden appearance of the object being shot. Later, when developing a film from a photographic emulsion, an intermediate view of the object is obtained, called a negative. In photography, negatives are used for storage and replication; the final stage will be getting positive from the negative. In the photoemulsion method, obtaining a positive is not required.
