What are the structural features of the educational tissue of plant organisms?

Educational tissue, or meristem, is characteristic only of plant organisms. Its cells are small, have large nuclei and are capable of constant division, as they form cells of other tissues and ensure plant growth.

Types of educational tissue:

– apical – the root division zone and the growth cone of the stem;

– lateral – cambium (growth of the stem in thickness);

– intercalated – found in the nodes of the shoot. provides fast growth of the stem;

– embryonic – is located in the embryo of the seed (seedling growth).
