What are the vegetative organs? Why are they called that?

An organ is a tissue that performs a specific function or group of functions. There is usually underlying tissue and sporadic tissue. The main tissue is unique to a particular organ.

The vegetative organs are essential for keeping the plant alive (they perform vital functions such as photosynthesis), while the reproductive organs play an important role in reproduction. But if there is asexual vegetative reproduction, the vegetative organs are those that create a new generation of plants. Vegetative plant organs are root, stem and leaf.
