What areas of the world’s oceans are most polluted? Why?

In view of the prevalence of sea currents in the oceans, the greatest accumulation of debris occurs in the equatorial zone of the Pacific Ocean. This is also influenced by the large emissions of poorly decomposing garbage from the countries of Southeast Asia. The processing of high-tech waste is poorly developed there at the moment. In view of this, in the Pacific Ocean there are already real islands made of garbage, which are quite comparable to the real-life large areas of land.
