What bodies of estate representation existed in the countries of Western Europe?

The main estate-representative body in France and the Netherlands was the States General. In the Germanic principalities, this function was performed by the Landtags, and on the scale of the Holy Roman Empire – by the Reichstag. For the British, this role was played by parliament. In Spain – the Cortes. And in Iceland, the althing still functioned.
