Deoxyribonucleic acid is an essential part of any living organism. It is found in all forms of life, both cellular and acellular, which include viruses. In cellular organisms of eukaryotes, DNA is stored in the nucleus, and in prokaryotes, it moves in free form in the cytoplasm. At its core, DNA is a sequence of nucleic acids that store information about protein synthesis. It is also used for reproduction both sexually and asexually. DNA provides information to ribosomes. But this is more likely not an exact synthesis instruction, but a kind of protein recipe.
