What can be the resultant force if the forces of 4H 18N act on the body?

| Forces are depicted by arrows of a certain length. The length of the arrow is the modulus of force, that is, its numerical value. We have the module of the first force F1 = 4 N, and the module of the second force F2 = 18 N. In addition, any force has a direction.
Consider the case when forces act along one straight line:
1) in one direction,
2) in the opposite direction.
In the first case, the resultant is found by adding forces:
F = F1 + F2 = 4 N + 18 N = 22 N.
In the second case, the resultant of two forces is found by subtracting:
F = F2 + F1 = 18 N – 4 N = 14 N. Moreover, the resulting force will be directed towards the greater force.
Answer: maybe F = 22 N, and maybe F = 14 N
