What can happen to young shoots in early spring in case of severe morning frosts?

In spring, perennial plants wake up from hibernation, seeds germinate, that is, young shoots appear. However, in spring the temperature regime is not yet constant and sharp jumps are possible, both to the warm and to the cold side. Shoots of plants in early spring are still very weak, therefore they are not adapted to low temperatures, and, with a sharp drop in temperature and frost, they can either freeze or die completely. The same happens with early flowering plants. If frosts occur during the flowering period, most likely there will be no fruits and seeds.
