What can replace the filament in lamps to extend lamp life?

Standard Tungsten filament can be replaced with any metal with higher refractory and anti-corrosive properties (for example, Copper).
When using a lamp, the incandescent filament is exposed to very high temperatures – therefore, in order to minimize this process – a light bulb, in its usual form – is irradiated into a protective glass (in fact, it forms the form of a lamp familiar to us, although this glass is more correctly called Protective), they protect against overheating.
However, Tungsten is, by nature, very fragile and delicate. Why do we use it in lamps? It is simply cheap and easy to manufacture and has a high electrical conductivity, so the lamp must be handled carefully and it is relatively inexpensive.
