Saliva is a colorless biological fluid of the body that is secreted into the growth cavity by three pairs of salivary glands. One of the most important properties of saliva is its antibacterial effect. Saliva contains a large amount of an enzyme from the group of hydrolases-lysozyme, which has a powerful antibacterial effect. By hydrolysis (decomposition under the action of water), lysozyme breaks down the cell walls of bacteria, which leads to their death.
