From 1900 to 2000, the following changes took place in the economy:
The transition from an industrial society to a post-industrial one. The age began with the telephone and ended with the age of the Internet.
Socialist economies – the USSR, the CMEA countries, China and Mao – appeared and almost disappeared (except for Cuba).
The mass construction of railways ceased, and from the middle of the century air transport began to develop.
Industrial processes have moved from old industrial countries to new ones, especially in Asia it is noticeable: South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, Thailand.
Modernization achievements: information economy, dominant tertiary sector, affordable air connections between continents, high urban population.
