What characterizes a totalitarian regime?

Usually, a totalitarian political regime is characterized by the fact that under this system the dominance of one political party prevails (manifested in the one-party political system of the state) and ideology, control over the life of citizens by the authorities, strict censorship, conducting the economy using a planning directive, fighting any manifestation dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in the country (up to harsh repression), mass propaganda, the lack of real rights and freedoms of the population.
