What civilizations emerged in Europe at the end of the early Middle Ages? Which states formed the basis?

If Russia is not considered a separate, independent civilization, then there are three civilizations in Europe: Byzantine, Western (which was based on Catholicism) and Islamic.

With Byzantium, I think everything is clear. There was a powerful empire with a developed science, culture, etc.

On the territory of the former Western Roman Empire, a very large power, including secular, was received by the Roman Catholic Church, it actively influenced all spheres of society. Among the states, first of all, it should be noted England, Germany, France. Their borders were constantly changing, states were split up, then merged into larger ones. Political mobility was very high.

The Arabs conquered the territory of present-day Spain in the early Middle Ages, made it part of the Umayyad Caliphate, established their customs, culture and traditions there.
