What computers appeared during the Second World War?

The original of the world’s first computer was destroyed in 1944 (during the bombing of Berlin). It was developed in 1940 by the German Zuse (name Z2). Then, in 1941, he designed the Z3 computer and in 1945 – the Z4 (only this sample survived, but after the end of the war it lay without use for more than 3 years). American scientists in the USA in 1942 create the first electronic digital computer ABC. In 1943, the Colossus computer was created in Great Britain – it was huge with 2000 vacuum tubes. This computer was used to decipher the secret codes of Germany. And finally, the German scientist Zuse, in 1945-1946, was the first to develop a programming language using algorithms. Thus, computers that appeared during the years of World War II were very cumbersome, but they became the prototypes of modern computers.
