What conditions are necessary for seed germination?

The property of seeds is very interesting, we know that for a long time seeds can be stored in storage completely unchanged. But if the seeds are determined in favorable conditions, they immediately begin to germinate and form seedlings. A very important condition for seed germination is the presence of water; when the seeds swell, they break the peel, and the root and stem of the embryo appear. Air is also necessary for the respiration of seeds, with the exception of rice, which grows completely under water and some marsh plants. Warmth is an important factor in seed germination. Many crops sprout at temperatures from 1 to 5 degrees Celsius, and plants come from warmer countries, demanding warmer air, cucumbers love temperatures of at least 10 degrees Celsius. Thus, we can conclude that three factors are important for the favorable germination of seeds – the presence of water, air and heat.
