What continents belong to the new world?

The division of land into parts of the world is based on ancient ideas, since only 3 continents were available to the ancient civilized world: Europe, Africa and Asia. Until the 15th century, almost all people thought that land included the territory of only these continents. And in the 15th century, when America was accidentally discovered, and then Australia and Antarctica, the listed continents began to be called the New World, since they were historically and culturally unfamiliar to Europeans. For some peoples, Antarctica is not considered part of the world, because it is uninhabited.
