What could be the reason for the change in the area of the range?

Habitat is the area in which certain living organisms live. However, the boundaries of the habitat are variable, since they can change when the living conditions of the inhabitants change. The reasons for changing the contour of the habitat can be:

– change in the number of populations (with growth – expansion of boundaries, with decrease – decrease in habitat);

– changes in water bodies (for example, when a reservoir dries up, the population may leave the territory);

– the emergence of new competitors or enemies, or an increase in the population of existing ones;

– human intervention in the environment.
