What dangers to society are hidden in the actions of monopolies?

Monopolies control the market. They can raise prices, reduce the quality of products, but society cannot influence this in any way. They have no choice from which manufacturer to buy their products. There is only one manufacturer. Therefore, the monopolies take advantage of this, offering low-quality goods at a high price. A monopoly can hold back products, creating an artificial shortage of goods and putting it up at a very high price, the people, in turn, will start buying this product, believing that soon the product will not appear on the shelves at all. The manufacturer profits from this, the society only suffers.
