What determines the number of altitude zones in the mountains?

The presence of altitudinal zones in the mountains depends on the altitude and geographic location. Just like in horizontal zoning, the change of belts changes from the equator to the belts. The change of natural zones in the mountains starts from the bottom to the top and changes in the same sequence as on the plain. A significant difference is the absence of alpine and subalpine meadows in horizontal zoning.
