What determines the volume of a sound?

Sound volume – determined by the signal amplitude. The higher the amplitude of the sound wave, the louder the sound. So, the experiment with a tuning fork is very indicative, when the vibrations of a sounding tuning fork are damped, along with the amplitude, the volume of the signal also decreases. Conversely, hitting the tuning fork harder and thereby increasing the amplitude of its vibrations, we will cause a louder signal. The pitch is determined by the frequency of the sound wave (long wave, wave period). The shorter the length, the higher the sound, the higher the signal.
