What did the ancient Greeks call Egypt?

The name “Egypt” itself is the Greek name for this state, which comes from the name of the capital Hikupta (which literally means the house of the soul of the god Ptah).
The ancient Egyptians themselves called their state Ta-Kemet, Ta-meri, Ta-ui in various historical periods.

The name Egypt in the local language was fixed with the conquest of these territories by Alexander the Great and the establishment of the power of the Greek dynasty of the Ptolemies.
