What did the ancient scrolls use to write?

The papyrus scrolls are the first ancient Egyptian books. The technology of their manufacture consisted in gluing sheets of papyrus with silt, which was similar to glue. The text was written using thin sticks or reed sticks, as well as red and black paint. Then the finished sheets were folded into a tight tube using a stick – this is how the scrolls were obtained, which were kept in separate cases. Later, such papyrus scrolls were fastened with cords, getting the approximate shape of today’s books.
