The role of the community in the life of the peasants was decisive. She determined what and when to sow in the field, which strip of land in the common field would go to the peasant, which field to sow with spring and which – with winter crops, and disposed of the land: pasture, forest, hayfields, and fishing. She either approved or did not approve of the deeds of the peasant. She distributed state taxes and duties between the farmsteads of peasants.
