What did the reforms of Henry II change in the country?

Military reform is worth mentioning. Feudal lords could, instead of serving time in a military campaign, they could buy off money. This tax was called “shield money”. The king paid the mercenaries, whom he hired with this money, and they, in turn, obeyed the king unquestioningly. This strengthened the position of royal power, limiting the influence of the feudal lords on the army.

Judicial reform. Its essence lies in the fact that by paying a certain amount, it was possible to transfer your case to 12 juries, and not leave it to the patrimonial court. The money went to the treasury.
