What did the Romans do with the lands they took for themselves?

The Romans were great conquerors. Over the years of the existence of Rome, a lot of lands were captured. On these lands, the Romans established their own rules. They appointed a governor to a particular province. Very often, for their military service, soldiers received land in the provinces, where a farm was already waiting for them and slaves who would work for them.
