What discoveries did the Phoenicians make?

In addition to grain crops, the Phoenicians grew vines and olive trees in large numbers. They made wine from grapes and olive oil from olives. The Phoenicians successfully traded these products, increasing the wealth of their state.
Brave divers raised special mollusks from the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. The Phoenicians extracted a natural dye from them. I use it in one way or another, they dyed fabrics in all shades of purple.
The Phoenicians were the first to process sand into glass. From glass they made amazing vases of various sizes and a vessel for incense. The craftsmanship of the Phoenician glassblowers achieved a special skill and, by grinding glass in a special way, they received mirrors.
A special achievement in the education of the Phoenicians and, with the development of ties between other peoples, their contemporaries, was the creation of the Phoenician alphabet of 29 letters. The letters denoted only consonants. Later the Greeks, using the Phoenician alphabet as a basis, added vowels.
